Borussia Dortmund vs Bayern Munich
Competition: Germany Super Cup
Date: 3 August 2019
Kick-off: 20:30 CET
Borussia spent a good part of last season leading in the Bundesliga, but at the end they succumbed, finishing two points behind champions – once again – Bayern. They looked very active in the transfer market, signing four important players; Mats Hummels returned from Bayern, Thorgan Hazard, Nico Schulz and Julian Brandt also joined the club, and generally Dortmund loom even stronger than last season. They are expected to start with Hitz, Hakimi, Akanji, Hummels, Schulz, Witsel, Delaney, Sancho, Götze, Reus and Alcacer. Regular goalkeeper Bürki is out due to a shin problem, Brandt is also out injured, and so is Morey. The day before the game, Hazard was considered doubtful (ankle problem), same as Zagadou.
No Arjen Robben, no Franck Ribery, this is a new Bayern we have to get used to, even though, if you think about it, both missed so many games these last years due to injuries, that imagining Bayern without them is not really that hard. As previously mentioned, Hummels left the club, back to Borussia, but the Bundesliga champions signed Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard, adding Germany youth international striker Fiete Arp as well to their roster. Last but not least, they are close to signing Leroy Sane from Manchester City. They are expected to start with Neuer, Kimmich, Süle, Pavard, Alaba, Tolisso, Thiago, Müller, Goretzka, Coman and Lewandowski. The day before the game, Gnabry was considered doubtful (still struggling with an injury), and Hernandez was considered almost ruled out, as he spent most of preseason in rehabilitation after a serious injury.

Borussia Dortmund vs Bayern Munich: Head to head Stats
One win for Borussia, two for Bayern, and two draws, in the last five games between these two in Dortmund.
Borussia Dortmund vs Bayern Munich: Prediction
Important detail, the game is held at Borussia’s home, not at a neutral ground. Bayern are considered favorites to win, but I really like Dortmund’s chances of winning the match.
Borussia Dortmund vs Bayern Munich: Betting Tips
Dortmund’s win in “draw no bet” is at 2.38. Their double chance is at 1.75, going to to 2.22 if combined with “over 1.5”. If I left the “draw no bet” safety net aside, I’d risk with “Dortmund and over 2.5 goals”, at 4.50.
