Botafogo vs Corinthians
Competition: Brazil Serie A
Date: 4 November 2018
Kick-off: 20:00 CET
When you see a club set the lowest price of a home match ticket at just 5 reals, something over one euro(!), you know this club is de-spe-ra-te to attract as many fans as possible to the stadium, and give the players that extra push that a full house gives. Botafogo have little doubt Nilton Santos will be full to the brim for this game against Corinthians, in which they abso-abso-absolutely must win. They are on 35 points, right above the relegation line, and depending on how things go in theirs and in other games this weekend, they may find themselves below the red line Sunday night. They have earned just three out of possible 15 points in their last five matches in the Série A. Huge news for them is that Paraguayan goalkeeper Gatito Fernández is finally back, no longer(!) in pain, after getting injured early in the season. Bad news is, striker Kieza is still troubled by an injury, and has to sit out.
Corinthians had won just one of their last nine matches in the championship before hosting Bahia last weekend, but I backed them to win that one, and they did, 2-1, almost dropping the ball in the dying minutes of the match. They got equalized from the penalty spot in the 85th minute, but Danilo scored a second personal in the 89th, to give Corinthians all three points. Jair Ventura’s team are 11th in the table, on 39 points, trying to finish the season as… decently as possible, after losing the Copa do Brasil to Cruzeiro. They have already started making their plans for next season, starting with the guys that spent this year out on loan, at other clubs. According to reports, it’s Cássio, Fagner, Léo Santos, Henrique, Danilo Avelar, Ralf, Douglas, Pedrinho, Ángelo Araos, Clayson and Danilo who will start the match at Nilton Santos.

Botafogo vs Corinthians: Head to head Stats
Four Botafogo wins and a draw in the last five games between these two in Rio de Janeiro.
Botafogo vs Corinthians: Prediction
There is no doubt it’s Botafogo the ones with the bigger motive here, but… is that enough to win the game, especially without Kieza?
Botafogo vs Corinthians: Betting Tips
I can’t trust Botafogo, not even in a full stadium, with thousands of fans of theirs pushing them. Actually, I expect them to… break under pressure, and I won’t be surprised if they finish the match empty-handed. Corinthians’ double chance is at 1.70, decent, and their win in “draw no bet” pays 2.37.
