Brighton vs Chelsea
Competition: England Premier League
Date: 16 December 2018
Kick-off: 14:30 CET
Brighton had managed to earn seven points from their last three matches before visiting Burnley last weekend, but despite playing against a team lower than them in the table, they saw their good run of three matches undefeated come to an end. Defeat, 1-0, conceding late in the first half, and somehow failing to respond after that. They are 13th in the table, on 21 points. They are expected to start with Ryan, Balogun, Bernardo, Bruno, Dunk, March, Bissouma, Propper, Gross, Knockaert and Murray. Two guys, Izquierdo and Jahanbakhsh are injured, while Duffy is suspended. Brighton have three wins and a draw in their last four Premier League matches at home, having conceded just twice in those four matches. They have lost just once as hosts this season, and that was a narrow 1-2 to Tottenham.
Chelsea registered their biggest win of the season – thus far – last weekend, beating former Premier League leaders Manchester City 2-0 at home. Midweek, they dropped their first points in their Europa League group, drawing 2-2 with MOL Vidi in Hungary. Either way, they had already qualified before kickoff. If there are no late surprises, they will start with Arrizabalaga, Rudiger, David Luiz, Azpilicueta, Marcos Alonso, Willian, Hazard, Kante, Barkley, Jorginho and Pedro. Four guys are dealing with injury problems, Morata, Cahill, Moses and Kovačić. The Blues finished last weekend fourth in the table, on 34 points, eight behind leaders Liverpool. Fifth-placed Arsenal were also on 34 points. They come from back-to-back defeats as guests in the Premier League, a 3-1 at Tottenham, and a 2-1 at Wolves.
