Bristol City vs Wolves
Competition: England Championship
Date: 30 December 2017
Kick-off: 18:30 CET
Huge game at Ashton Gate, as two of the best teams in the Championship (second against first) are facing each other, in what is a golden opportunity for Bristol City to close the gap on leaders Wolves. On Tuesday, Bristol City beat Reading 2-0 at home, a win harder to get than what the score suggests. The hosts took the lead in the 68th minute, and didn’t finish the match off until added time, when they scored their second goal. Even so, they bounced back form their rather unexpected draw at QPR three days earlier, and with six wins in their last seven matches (not to mention a historic victory over Manchester United in a League Cup quarterfinal), they look perfectly ready to make use of their home advantage to beat leaders Wolves as well. The gap between them is eight points, with just over half the season already gone.
Drawing to a team that find themselves in the lower half of the table doesn’t make the leaders of any league look good, but Millwall have been looking decent lately, so drawing 2-2 there, wasn’t such a bad result for Wolves, after all. This, keeping in mind that their gap to second-placed Bristol City and Cardiff City is at eight points, a number, eight, that… allows space for slip-ups. Wolves have undoubtedly been the best team in the league thus far this season, scoring more goals than anyone else, conceding less goals than anyone else, and losing less games than anyone else, excluding Bristol City actually, who have lost exactly the same number of games, three. Even a draw will be a very positive result for the visitors, even though, deep down, they must be dreaming of a win, so as to further boost their chances not just of returning to the Premier League, but also winning the Championship title.

Bristol City vs Wolves: Head to head Stats
Two wins for Bristol City, two for Wolves, and a draw, in the last five games between these two with Bristol City as hosts. Four of those five matches went over 2.5 goals.
Bristol City vs Wolves: Prediction
Wolves are considered favourites to win the game, which suits me just fine, because I’m definitely backing the hosts to earn at least a draw.
Bristol City vs Wolves: Betting Tips
Bristol City’s double chance pays 1.57, a good start. Between their win and draw, I feel the latter is more probable. It pays 3.25, and even better than that if you combine it with “under 2.5 goals”. I expect the game to be very tight, with both teams focusing on their defence, and taking hardly any risks until, maybe, late in the game, in the last 15 minutes.
