Burnley vs Leicester
Competition: Premier League
Date: 31 January 2017
Kick-off: 20:45 CET
The unpredictable Burnley side will want to again get back to winning ways after their last five games have been all pretty good performances. When they face the defending champions Leicester, the stakes, or fear-factor, won’t be as high and it is actually the recently promoted side that holds all the aces.
Sitting in 13th, but only due to a tight 2-1 loss to Arsenal, Burnley will now that they have a chance to pick up another win after getting three in their last five when they take on Leicester. Their last two losses have been against big boys Arsenal and Manchester City and both of those were 2-1 losses. Now, they face the struggling Leicester side which is in 15th and not in a great run of form themselves. Burnley will know that another win against Leicester would rocket them up to ninth with all things going their way, so their focus is definitely clear.
Leicester have been poor, there is no doubting that, but they need to be wary now as only five points separate them from Crystal Palace who top the relegation zone along with Hull City. Last year they were battling for the league title, now it is about staying alive and games like this against Burnley should be seen as relatively simple ones, but it is not the case for two reasons. Leicester have not been the same team, without Jamie Vardy firing and with the loss of N’golo Kante, not to mention Burnley are proving to be a tough prospect.
Burnley vs Leicester: Head-to-Head Stats
Leicester can at least take some solace in the fact that in the Premier League they have never lost a game to Burnley. But in saying that they have only met on three occasions with there being one draw to go along with Leicester’s two wins. When they met earlier this season it was a comprehensive 3-0 win for the Foxes.
Burnley vs Leicester: Prediction
There is every chance that history could be made as Burnley welcome Leicester into what could be their first win The Brummies have been up and down all season, but they look to have shown some sort of good form recently with their three wins in five. The Foxes have the ability but their good games have been too few and far between so it will probably be a good win to Burnley to keep them on track.
Burnley vs Leicester: Tips
Burnley are a bit of a happy-go-lucky team so although they are winning, they are not dominating in a sense and will probably give Leicester a sniff, there will be goals for both sides so bet on there being more than 3.5 goals in the game.
