Caracas vs Independiente del Valle
Competition: Copa Sudamericana
Date: 10 July 2019
Kick-off: 22:00 CET
Clubs in Venezuela have been left anything but unaffected by the… general problems the country is facing, but somehow Caracas managed to reach the Copa Sudamericana last 16. They eliminated Liverpool, from Montevideo, in the previous round, despite losing 1-0 in Uruguay in the first leg. Two second half goals in Venezuela pushed Noel Sanvicente’s team to the last 16. Their most recent official match was on June 3, a home defeat to Zulia, a super disappointing result. They had finished second in the regular season of Venezuela’s Apertura tournament, they got to face 7th-placed Zulia in the quarterfinals, but “managed” to lose twice, and get eliminated early.
The second round of Ecuador’s championship started last weekend, and leaders Independiente del Valle remained at the top, beating Deportivo Cuenca 2-0 at home. Cuenca lost eight important players these last weeks, they are no longer the team they were before the June break, but still, the fact that Independiente played an official match before traveling to Venezuela was a plus. The Ecuadorian side have already eliminated Unión de Santa Fe (on penalties) and Universidad Católica (from Chile), but they lost both games on the road, 2-0 in Argentina, and 3-2 in Santiago. Actually, they have won just one of their last five games as guests, Copa Sudamericana and Ecuador championship combined. Spaniard Miguel Ángel Ramírez took over in March, and up to now he has done a good job, having the team first in the championship table and still active in an international competition.

Caracas vs Independiente del Valle: Head to head Stats
No history between these two.
Caracas vs Independiente del Valle: Prediction
Independiente are considered favorites to win the game, but I don’t trust them that much away from home.
Caracas vs Independiente del Valle: Betting Tips
Caracas’ win in “draw no bet” is at 2.20. If I left the safety net of “draw no bet” aside and bet on the hosts’ win, to make the risk really worth it, I would combined it with “under 2.5 goals”, at 5.50.
