Cardiff vs Tottenham
Competition: England Premier League
Date: 1 January 2019
Kick-off: 18:30 CET
Neil Etheridge, Cardiff’s goalkeeper, did it again… He saved his third penalty of the season on Saturday, in the 75th minute, in their away match at King Power Stadium, and Víctor Camarasa scored in the second minute of added time to give them a 0-1 victory over Leicester. If winners were decided by numbers alone, Cardiff would have lost, but two key moments, that 75th-minute saved penalty and Camarasa’s wonderful strike in added time, made the overall match statistics look… pointless. Huge win for Cardiff, pushed them to 15 points, still right on the limit of the relegation zone, but looking better than before their trip to Leicester. Should be mentioned they had won three home games in a row before getting destroyed by Manchester United something over a week ago, in United’s first game after Jose Mourinho’s dismissal.
What, a, shock… Tottenham had been England’s second most in-form team for weeks now, earning big victories, playing good football, qualifying for the Champions League last 16, climbing up second in the Premier League table, leaving Manchester City behind them, but… They hosted Wolves, took the lead in the 22nd minute (one more goal by Harry Kane), but the last 20 minutes proved to be full of surprises; 1-1, 1-2, 1-3! In something like 15 minutes, they conceded, at home, and playing against Wolves, as many goals as they had conceded in their previous six matches combined, which included a trip to Barcelona. Unbelievable… One of those results that leave you scratching your head… Soon after Tottenham’s game was over, Liverpool destroyed Arsenal 5-1 at Anfield, so the gap between the two now is no smaller than nine whole points.

Cardiff vs Tottenham: Head to head Stats
Cardiff haven’t hosted Tottenham since 2013. Back then, they lost 0-1. Before that, they had drawn without goals in 2007.
Cardiff vs Tottenham: Prediction
Will Tottenham look… demoralized, or extra motivated, after what happened on Saturday at Wembley? I expect the latter.
Cardiff vs Tottenham: Betting Tips
A simple Tottenham win is at just 1.47. Combined with “over 1.5” that goes up to 1.70, and “Tottenham and over 2.5 goals” pays 2.08, my main tip.
