Cerro Porteno vs Deportivo Capiata
Competition: Paraguay Apertura
Date: 4 March 2018
Kick-off: 21:45 CET
Someone could be excused to claim that last weekend Cerro Porteño didn’t draw 1-1 to Libertad, but to Rodrido Muñoz, Libertad’s goalkeeper. The Uruguayan was absolutely spectacular, denying Cerro’s players, mostly Diego Churín, again, and again, and again. Churín finally sent the ball in with 11 minutes left on the clock, beating Muñoz mostly because the Libertad keeper didn’t expect two defenders of his to allow Churín to get that header. All in all, Cerro were far better than Libertad, especially in the second half, and I feel they deserved to get all three points. I had backed them to avoid defeat (for some reason, betting companies considered Libertad favourites). Midweek, they played a very-very good game in Venezuela, and beat Monagas 2-0, on their debut in the Copa Libertadores group stage. Actually, if they had tried a little harder offensively, after Monagas were left with 10 men, they could have scored more.
“Over 2.5 goals”, at 1.91, was my tip last weekend when Deportivo Capiatá hosted Deportivo Santaní, the game had three goals, the tip came good, but… 2-1 for Capiatá?! Having seen how the game went, I’m left with no doubt that this score is totally deceiving, as Santaní deserved at least a point. For some reason, Capiatá looked like a… mouse in the second half, right after taking the lead in the 50th minute, thanks to a super lucky goal. They allowed “cat” Santaní more than half a dozen chances, huge chances, but somehow they ended up with all three points (and 10 men, as Cristian Maidana was sent off in added time). The fact that Capiatá’s best player was their goalkeeper, José Aquino, gives you an idea how the match last weekend went. Even so, Capiatá are on seven points from four matches, having won both their games at home. On the road, they drew at General Díaz and lost to Guaraní, in a game, ironically, where their goalkeeper had gifted Guaraní the winner.

Cerro Porteno vs Deportivo Capiata: Betting Tips
At 1.75, someone could skip any special bets and stick to Cerro Porteño’s win, simple as that. Acting somewhat greedier, you could go for Cerro to win and also keep a clean sheet, a combination that pays 3.00.
