Cheetahs vs Leinster
Competition: Guinness Pro14
Date: 22 September 2017
Kick off 20:00 CET
The Cheetahs finally got on some point of the log since joining the Pro 14 as they won their first game at home, they have another home game waiting them, but the opposition will be much more threatening.
Leinster travel to Bloemfontein after making it three wins from three games in the competition, with their latest victory a solid showing against another South African side in the Kings at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. It took the Leinster men a while to get settled, but once they broke the shackles they were full value for their 31-10 win against the Kings, all the way in Port Elizabeth. The Leinster defence was the most impressive as the Kings have a lot of attacking options, but they could only cross the whitewash once. That away win pairs with the one they opened the campaign with against the Dragons in a big 39-16 victory, and also goes along with the only home game they have had all season, which was yet another big victory against the Cardiff Blues 37-9.
The Cheetahs have very much been the Cheetahs of old, despite being in a new competition. They are full of running, free scoring, and very poor in defence. It has shown in all the games they have played, starting against Ulster where they used their individual talents to get a lead through the first half but then fell away as their defence was cracked open. Away from home the Cheetahs lost first by 23 points, 42-19 to Ulster, then by 33 points, 51-18, but they got their win in the latest game, but it was against one of the weakest sides in Zebre. The Cheetahs showed their attacking ability as they scored 54 points, but they also let in 39 from a Zebre side that are not such an attacking threat.

Cheetahs vs Leinster: Prediction
The Leinster defence really has been their star performer with three tries in three games only being scored against them. The Cheetah, at home, will certainly test that, and they will get over the line, but it is the home side’s defence that will be the real issue. The Leinster side has a lot of attacking ability too and they will be able to outscore the Cheetahs based purely on the opposition’s defence.
