Club America vs Tauro
Competition: CONCACAF Champions League
Date: 7 March 2018
Kick-off: 02:00 CET
Club América had beaten Deportivo Saprissa 5-1 in the first leg away from home in the previous round, backing them to win again at home was the rather obvious choice, but I preferred something that was paying better, “both teams to score”, despite the fact that the Mexican side have been doing very-very well defensively lately. They were going to play with some reserves, and they had already qualified after that 5-1 triumph in the first leg, so… “both teams to score” made sense to me, and was at a very satisfying 1.90. It came good, as they drew 1-1, taking the lead in the 1st minute, and getting equalised in the 53rd. Last weekend they drew 1-1 at Guadalajara, their fourth draw in their last five matches in Mexico’s championship. They remain undefeated in 10 game weeks, but they are second, two points behind leaders Santos Laguna, who have already lost two games, but have way less draws, more wins.
Tauro proved me wrong. Not only they scored at Dallas, they did so twice, and qualified more easily than what that final 3-2 suggests. They had beaten Dallas 1-0 at home, they took the lead twice last week in the return leg, and conceded that third goal only late in the game, in added time. They took perfect advantage of the clean sheet they – somehow, miraculously – kept at home in the first leg, and here they are, one of the surprises of the round of 16, having an even bigger challenge ahead of them. “No fear”. These are the words repeated by several Tauro players after arriving in Mexico City, when asked about the first leg against Club América. They know they are the underdogs, no one is going to ask for their head on a plate if they lose, and that’s something that may work for them.

Club America vs Tauro: Prediction
Any other result but a Club América win will be… shocking, but the hosts’ victory pays close to nothing.
Club America vs Tauro: Betting Tips
“Over 3.5 combined goals” is my only tip. It pays 2.20, and I consider it a risk worth taking, keeping in mind how many chances Dallas had against Tauro in both matches in the previous round, no matter if they failed to score as guests.
