Colon vs Estudiantes
Competition: Argentina Superliga
Date: 11 November 2018
Kick-off: 00:30 CET
Two weeks ago, Colón played an awesome first half at Huracán, went to the dressing room at halftime leading 0-2, but in the second one they “managed” to lose 3-2, despite the fact that El Globo was left with 10 men in the 50th minute, with the score still at 0-2. Last weekend, Colón took the lead at Rosario Central as well, being the better team on the field in the first half. Same thing, they looked very-very different in the second part, got equalized, and had to settle for a point. Not a bad result, but it’s starting to become a… trend, this “awesome first half, pitiful second one”. They are 16th in the Superliga table, on 13 points from 11 matches.
Estudiantes’ goal last weekend in Quilmes against River Plate was a super lucky one, but… a goal nonetheless, and a winner, as River failed to respond. It was the third win in a row for the La Plata side, and what makes their accomplishment even more impressive is that they didn’t concede a single goal in those three wins. It’s interesting that they have scored their last six goals in the second half, as if… taking their time, starting slowly, offensively, and figuring things out after halftime. It may be a coincidence, but… I repeat, six goals in a row, all in second halves. They are on 14 points from 10 matches, one point ahead of Colón, and with a game in hand as well.

Colon vs Estudiantes: Head to head Stats
Last year, these two drew 0-0 in Santa Fe. Before that, Estudiantes hadn’t visited Colón since 2014, when they beat them 0-2.
Colon vs Estudiantes: Prediction
I remain unconvinced by Estudiantes, despite their three wins in a row. With all due respect to them and their accomplishment, having watched all three games, I’m left with the impression they earned way more points than what they really deserved, based on how they looked in all 270 minutes. I’m backing Colón to win this one.
Colon vs Estudiantes: Betting Tips
Colón’s win is at 2.37 (with their double chance at 1.34). I’m staying with that, avoiding risking further with number of goals and Colón’s clean sheet.
