Colon vs Zamora
Competition: Copa Sudamericana
Date: 7 March 2018
Kick-off: 01:45 CET
Colón were far better than Zamora three weeks ago in the first leg, in Venezuela, and that second goal they scored in the 86th minute kind of… did the game justice, as a simple 0-1 win would have been poor for the Argentine side, given how the whole 90 minutes went. There were parts of the game that looked like professionals were playing against amateurs, with Colón pressing high up and obliging Zamora defenders to make ridiculous mistakes. Colón have played seven games in 2018, and interestingly, that first leg against Zamora is the only one in which they scored more than once. On the other hand, they have conceded just one goal in their last five matches. They are 11th in Argentina’s championship, with two wins and two draws in their last four games there.
Zamora got exactly what they deserved in the first leg, nothing, a defeat that leaves them practically eliminated. They did have a couple of chances to score in the first half, but that was after going 1-0 down, after having allowed Colón to… embarrass them for about 25-30 minutes, pressing them high up, obliging them to a series of infantile mistakes at the back. Zamora need a mini miracle to qualify, not so much because they lost 2-0 at home, but even more because they looked far inferior to their Argentine rivals. They are third in Venezuela’s championship, after drawing 1-1 at home to Atlético Venezuela a week ago. Zamora have won two games in 2018 by two goals, but both times it was against lowly opponents in Venezuela. Doing the same in Santa Fe, Argentina, feels close to impossible.

Colon vs Zamora: Head to head Stats
Colón have never hosted Zamora before.
Colon vs Zamora: Prediction
Colón are considered huge favourites to win the game. I – sort of – agree, but their win pays very little.
Colon vs Zamora: Betting Tips
A simple Colón win pays just 1.40. Combined with a clean sheet this goes up to 2.00. Keep in mind, they have conceded just one goal in their last five matches. “Under 2.5 combined goals” is at 1.75, another way to approach this game. The riskiest choice is to go for “Colón and under 2.5 goals”, a risk paying well, 3.00.
