Connacht vs Cardiff Blues
Competition: Guinness Pro14
Date: 23 September 2017
Kick off: 16:15 CET
Cardiff have had a season to forget as it stands, with their three games they have lost all of them and picked up just one bonus point. They now have the unenviable task of traveling to Galway to face Connacht.
Cardiff have even had the advantage of playing two of their three games at home, yet that has not helped them whatsoever as against the two Scottish side at home they fell forts by 10 points against Edinburgh, and then even more frustratingly, by one point to a good Glasgow side. In between those games they had to travel to a very good Leinster side where they were again put to the sword in their worst ever loss, falling by 28 points and not even managing to score a try. They showed some good play against Glasgow who are in themselves looking good this season so when they travel to Galway they will hope to keep that up, but there are not many teams that manage to go to Ireland and its harsh West Coast and come away with points.
Connacht have not done much better than Cardiff this season as they have only the one win to show from their three games, and of course that was at home, but they also suffered a loss at home, against Glasgow surprisingly. What is more worrying for Connacht though is that they are coming off a loss against the Dragons, a team that does not often cash in on wins. The 13 point loss on the road against the Dragons would have been a big confidence knock, especially after a big win against the Kings at home the week before. Their opening game against Glasgow, which was a six point loss was probably them just finding their feet, and now back at home they will look to take advantage again.

Connacht vs Cardiff Blues: Head to Head Stats
Cardiff will at least be able to walk into this game with the historical advantage behind their back, although it is a small one. They have won five games and drawn one while Connacht have the four wins. Cardiff have won in Connacht twice in those five wins.
Connacht vs Cardiff Blues: Prediction
Even though Connacht are coming off a loss, they are still a really tough opponent to take on in Galway, and as such it will mean Cardiff will have to pull off something special. More than likely they will be spent after their efforts against Glasgow and this will be a bridge too far.
