Corinthians vs Fluminense
Competition: Brazil Serie A
Date: 16 November 2017
Kick-off: 00:45 CET
“Under 2.5 goals” (2.00) and “draw-Corinthians” for “halftime/full time” (3.50) were the two tips here when the Sao Paulo side hosted Avai last weekend. They won 1-0, scoring early in the second half. Amazingly, the goal was scored by Kazim-Richards. “Amazingly”, because it was his first goal of the season, and first since February, which is when he had scored his only goal in the Paulista championship. In almost 30 appearances in all competitions with Corinthians’ jersey, he has scored only those two goals, and what makes his goal against Avai even more… amazing, is that he pushed the ball in with his chest(!), not accidentally, but definitely meaning to. Corinthians now have three wins in a row, and could be crowned champions these days, mathematically, even though there are still three game weeks remaining (after this one).
It all started out great for Fluminense at Cruzeiro last weekend, goal in the 7th minute (by Pedro, the second of the season for the 20-year-old), good football, chances for more goals, and despite getting equalized soon, when they went to the dressing room at halftime they should be feeling positive about the outcome of the match. Eleven minutes into the second half, Marlon was… naive/careless enough to touch the ball with his hand, even though he already had a yellow card. The referee didn’t hesitate to send him off, and if that weren’t enough, Cruzeiro went 2-1 up, thanks to that foul given against Marlon. Fluminense didn’t create a single chance in the remainder of the game, they looked totally disheartened, and they were rather lucky to “escape” with a 3-1, a score that could have been even bigger, given the chances Cruzeiro lost in counterattacks. It has been a disappointing season for Fluminense, and the least they hope to succeed in at this point, is to earn a Copa Sudamericana ticket, which is within their reach.

Corinthians vs Fluminense: Head to head Stats
Three wins for Corinthians, one for Fluminense, and one draw, in the last five games between these two in Sao Paulo. All five matches had two goals or less.
Corinthians vs Fluminense: Prediction
I do expect Corinthians to win, the fact that they could practically secure the title (maybe even mathematically) midweek in front of their fans is an extra motive, but I don’t like that 1.48 their victory comes at.
Corinthians vs Fluminense: Betting Tips
Unlike last weekend when “under 2.5 goals” was my choice in Corinthians’ game against Avai, this time I’m going with “over 2.5 goals”, at 2.20, which goes even higher if you combine it with a win of the hosts.
