Cracovia Krakow vs Piast Gliwice
Competition: Poland Ekstraklasa
Date: 14 April 2018
Kick-off: 15:30 CET
It would be an exaggeration to call last weekend’s Cracovia Krakow vs Zaglebie Lubin one of the most exciting games of the season, but the last 20 minutes, yes, for sure, they definitely deserve a… special spot in a top 10 list including only the last 20 minutes of all Ekstraklasa matches thus far this season. Cracovia looked… toothless, until a Zaglebie defender committed a super clumsy penalty in the 72nd minute. Krzysztof Piątek didn’t miss, and four minutes later he scored again(!). Right after that, Cracovia had one of the… “missed chances of the season” to make it 3-1, and put the game to bed. It was a “three in one” chance, three attempts, no goal though. Added time, Zaglebie equalised, leaving the hosts in disbelief. Cracovia are starting the “relegation round” second in the table, rather safe, meaning that they are not really threatened with relegation. Plus, they will play four games at home, and only three away.
Piast Gliwice’s win at 2.15 was my tip last weekend when they hosted Nieciecza, they took the lead early, had chances to make it 2-0 and pretty much secure the three points, but in the second half they retreated, they looked more and more… insecure as time was passing, and, in added time, they conceded, throwing two points to the trashcan. As I mentioned in that preview, Piast’s main problem since day… 2 this season (they drew at Cracovia on their debut) has been self-confidence. Over and over again, they have failed in games they were expected to win, and have outdone themselves in games they were considered doomed. Those points they missed last weekend, they actually made a big difference, because they finished 13th, meaning that they will play three games as hosts in the extra round, and four as visitors. If they hadn’t conceded that added-time goal to Nieciecza, it would be four at home and three away.

Cracovia Krakow vs Piast Gliwice: Head to head Stats
Two wins for Cracovia, two for Piast, and a draw, in the last five games between these two in Krakow. Three of those five matches went over 2.5 goals.
Cracovia Krakow vs Piast Gliwice: Prediction
As previously mentioned, Cracovia and Piast drew 1-1 in Krakow back in July, on the opening day of this season’s Ekstraklasa. Today though, I feel Cracovia have what it takes to win the game.
Cracovia Krakow vs Piast Gliwice: Betting Tips
Cracovia’s win is at 2.35 betting odds. And is my main tip. “Both teams to score” pays 1.80, and last but not least, “Cracovia and over 2.5 goals” is at 3.90(!), suiting my 2-1 hunch.
