Croatia vs Senegal
Competition: International friendly
Date: 8 June 2018
Kick-off: 18:00 CET
Things at Croatia could be better. A 2-0 defeat to Brazil is not something you can call a “wake-up call”, they were playing against mighty Brazil after all, but going back to all their friendly games ever since they beat Greece in the World Cup qualifiers (playoffs), you can tell Croatia are still trying to… figure things out. Then again, someone could claim that this is what friendly games are for, tests, experiments, trying this and that, and Zlatko Dalic has definitely done all these, trying to come down to what suits his team the most. This game against Senegal is their last before facing Nigeria in Russia, in the group stage, so… no more experiments, no more tests, this is it for Croatia.
Croatia have lost two of their last three – friendly – games, Senegal have stayed undefeated, but that’s a very shallow way of… analyzing the situation. Unlike Croatia who tested themselves against World Cup finalists Peru, Mexico, let alone Brazil, Senegal had to settle for B class friendly games against Uzbekistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and even Luxembourg(!). Three draws is all they managed, and, if you think that is poor, read this: one goal, they scored just one goal, in three matches, against the aforementioned teams. The bright side of their story, is that they conceded only one as well. Then again, you have to keep in mind whom they faced. Excluding Bosnia and Herzegovina, having conceding to one of the other two would have been an embarrassment. Senegal need… something, a spark, something to shake things up in their preparation for the finals, one good game to boost their morale.

This is the first game ever between these two.
Croatia vs Senegal: Prediction
The game is held in Osijek, Croatia. The hosts are considered clear favorites to win. I agree with that, and I’m also counting on them to avoid conceding.
Croatia vs Senegal: Betting Tips
A simple Croatia win pays 1.66. Combined with a clean sheet, it goes up to 2.62. If I left winners and losers aside I would go for “under 2.5 goals”, but it doesn’t pay more than 1.60.
