CSKA Moscow vs Arsenal
Competition: UEFA Europa League
Date: 12 April 2018
Kick-off: 21:05 CET
Arsenal’s victory combined with “over 2.5 goals” (2.00) was my main tip last week when the Gunners hosted CSKA, and they definitely delivered, winning the game 4-1. As if that weren’t enough for the Russian side, on Monday they lost 1-2 at home to Dinamo Moscow, seeing their title hopes practically disappear. They are left eight whole points behind leaders Lokomotiv Moscow, with six games left to play. Center-back Viktor Vasin and right-back Mario Fernandes are unavailable. CSKA have already lost to Lyon at home earlier this season, as well as to Manchester United and Basel in the Champions League group stage.
It’s still unclear how many games Henrikh Mkhitaryan will miss, there are fears he won’t even reappear before the end of the season, but one thing is absolutely sure, he’s out of this game, and the one against Newcastle the coming weekend. The Armenia international got injured, it’s feared that he’ll spend weeks sidelined, but, as previously mentioned, Arsenal haven’t made a final assessment yet, so… there is hope for him (and the team). Danny Welbeck scored twice on Sunday proving crucial in their 3-2 home win over Southampton, his first goals in the Premier League after going without one for 16 whole games. The Gunners have six wins in a row in all competitions, right after losing four consecutive games.

CSKA Moscow vs Arsenal: Head to head Stats
CSKA have hosted Arsenal once before. They beat them 1-0 in 2006, in a Champions League group stage game.
CSKA Moscow vs Arsenal: Prediction
Arsenal are considered relatively clear favourites to win the game, they definitely can, but… I’m always hesitant to bet on a team’s win when their motive is not 100% there. I prefer to bet on goals.
CSKA Moscow vs Arsenal: Betting Tips
“Over 2.5 goals” is at 1.65, not… mind-blowing, but with very good chances of coming good. The Russians want to save some face, and Arsenal’s players may lack a collective motive (as they have already qualified, pretty much), but still, individually, they have things to prove in every single game, being part of a team full of players waiting around the corner for their own chance to shine. “Over 3.5 goals” pays 2.50, obviously is a bigger risk, but rather worth it, given how well it pays.
