CSKA Moscow vs Emporio Armani Milan
Date: 13th December 2017
Kick-off: 18:00 CET
In the first Euroleague game on Friday, CSKA Moscow will host Emporio Armani Milan at the Megasport Arena in an attempt to get back to their winning ways.
After dropping just one game in their first thirteen matches, the reigning Euroleague champions have not been able to get a victory in the last three rounds. CSKA have been defeated consecutively by Fenerbahce, Crvena Zvezda and Real Madrid, which suddenly made their first place in the regular season standings a lot less secure than before. However, on Friday night Dimitris Itoudis and his men will have a pretty good chance to get back to winning, as they will host Milan.
Milan have been in more than a hole, as they have not been able to win even a single game for the past nine rounds. The club led by Jasmin Repesa is in an absolutely horrific form and it’s hard to see them actually break their losing streak if they continue playing in the same way. On Friday they will be visiting CSKA Moscow which almost automatically means that their consecutive defeats will become ten.
CSKA Moscow vs Emporio Armani Milan: Head to head stats
In the last 16 years, CSKA Moscow and Emporio Armani Milan have faced each other seven times and the Russian club has been victorious in four of those games.
In the first meeting of the 2016-17 regular season, CSKA won by a 64-79 score in Milano.
CSKA are 2-1 at home against Emporio Armani.
CSKA Moscow vs Emporio Armani Milan: Prediction
Despite that CSKA have not won a game in their last three matches and are currently in their worst slump since 2010, they are still the absolute favorites to win Friday. Milan are in a far worse position, as they haven’t won in their previous nine matches and are looking awful on the court.
The game could get quite ugly for Milan, as they are the team with the worst defense in the entire Euroleague (87.9 ppg) and will face the club with the most potent offense of the tournament – CSKA (88.4 ppg). Moreover, after missing some time due to injury and looking a bit rusty in the last matches, Nando De Colo will most likely be back at his best in order to lead Moscow’s offense.
Expect a dominant win by CSKA Moscow at home as they look to make a statement after three consecutive defeats.
