Cyprus vs Norway
Competition: UEFA Nations League
Date: 19 November 2018
Kick-off: 20:45 CET
That goal Cyprus conceded in the 89th minute on Friday, from the penalty spot, when they hosted Bulgaria, meant the end of their hopes to finish at the top of this group. Instead of climbing up to seven points, three behind leaders Norway, they moved up to only five, left five whole points behind both Norway and Bulgaria. They are three points ahead of bottom-of-the-table Slovenia, and they have four points from the two games against them (beat them at home, drew away), so no matter what happens in the last games of this group, Cyprus will finish third, and Slovenia will get relegated to League D.
Norway salvaged a point in the 85th minute in Slovenia on Friday. They had been losing 1-0 since the 8th minute, but Bjorn Johnsen equalized for them. The Scandinavians remain at the top of the group, but things in the table are… interestingly open. They are on 10 points, as many as Bulgaria. Both teams won their home games over each other by the same score, 1-0, so if they finish level on points, it’s the overall goal difference in the group that will define the winner. Right now, Norway are at +3, while Bulgaria are at +2. If both teams win their last games, Norway need to win by at least as many goals as Bulgaria. If they win, for example, by one, and Bulgaria win by two, it’s Bulgaria who finish first. If both teams draw, Norway finish first. Last, if both teams lose, again, Norway will need to be extra… careful by how many goals that happens. If they lose by two goals, and Bulgaria lose by one, the Scandinavians will be left second, level on points with Bulgaria, same goal difference, but having scored a goal less than the Balkans.

Norway have visited Cyprus five times in the past, and have beaten them all 10 times(!). Total goals, 2-13.
Cyprus vs Norway: Prediction
Norway are considered clear favorites to win the game, but I’m actually backing the Cypriots to do something they’ve never done before, not lose to Norway. Ten games, home and away, ten defeats. They’ve got nothing to lose, they’ve already beaten Slovenia at home, got equalized by Bulgaria in the 89th minute, so… I’m taking a risk with them.
Cyprus vs Norway: Betting Tips
Cyprus’ double chance is at 2.30.
