Delfin vs Bolivar
Competition: Copa Libertadores
Date: 1 March 2018
Kick-off: 01:45 CET
What, a, game, for Delfín… What a game… Their first ever in a CONMEBOL competition, directly into the Copa Libertadores group stage, having finished second last season in Ecuador’s championship. Huge day for Delfín’s fans in Manta, a coastal city of Ecuador. The new season hasn’t started well for them, as the team have picked up just one point from their first two matches. Last weekend they lost 3-1 at home to El Nacional, a rather… deceiving result, because the difference between the two teams was not really that big. Delfín scored a consolation goal in added time, they were losing 2-0 at halftime and 3-0 since the 76th minute, but truth is they had several chances to score, and it was mostly El Nacional’s goalkeeper who decided the result, having an absolutely fantastic game.
Bolívar dropped two points against Club Destroyers last weekend in Bolivia’s championship, despite taking a 2-0 lead in the 64th minute(!). Not only they got equalised, but they also lost 30-year-old left-back Leonel Morales, who got injured, left the pitch on a stretcher, and didn’t travel with the squad to Ecuador. What’s ironic is that Morales was one of the super few regulars who played in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, and his coach, Brazilian Vinicius Eutropio, was going to decide on his presence in Ecuador as well depending on how he would recover from the Bolivia championship match. Instead, the guy got inured, and as previously mentioned, he didn’t even travel to Ecuador. Bolívar played with several reserves against Sport Boys, and that’s probably what they paid for, conceding two goals in the last 15 minutes to drop two points. They had nine from their first three matches this season, but now only one from their last two. Last season they won both the Apertura and the Clausura in Bolivia, earning a direct ticket to the Copa Libertadores group stage.

Delfin vs Bolivar: Head to head Stats
Historic game for Delfín, their first ever in a CONMEBOL competition.
Delfin vs Bolivar: Prediction
Delfín are considered clear favourites to win the game, which suits me just fine, because it makes my choice, Bolívar’s double chance, pay better than what I expected.
Delfin vs Bolivar: Betting Tips
“Draw or Bolívar” is at 2.00 betting odds, better than Delfín’s win alone. I consider it enough to avoid risking with other bets, really expecting the Bolivian side to look smart enough to get at least a draw in Manta.
