Denmark vs Mexico
Competition: International friendly
Date: 9 June 2018
Kick-off: 20:00 CET
Last time Denmark played a really competitive game, the return leg of their playoffs against Northern Ireland, they scored five goals, triumphed, qualified for the finals. Ever since then, they have played five friendly games, two of those not with their strongest possible squad, and have scored only in two of those five matches (no goals in their last two). A few days ago they drew 0-0 with Sweden, a game which had very few scoring chances from both sides. Then again, both coaches chose to experiment, with Denmark, for example, playing the full 90 minutes without their biggest star, Christian Eriksen. Actually, the Tottenham star just became a father, but he has already returned to training, after making sure that his wife and baby are ok. This is the Danes’ last game before they fly to Russia, before they face Peru in their first group match, so – finally – we should expect to see what they should look like on Russian soil, soon.
A Giovani dos Santos goal in the 13th minute proved enough to give Mexico the win over Scotland last weekend, back home. Given that they were facing a very weakened Scottish side, the fact that they won only 1-0, is nothing to get super enthusiastic about. On the other hand, they did keep a clean sheet, which has happened in five of their last six friendly games. Their success is remarkable, if you consider that some of those games were against World Cup finalists. Only Croatia have managed to score past Mexico these last months. Javier Hernández is expected to start, after not playing at all against Scotland.

Denmark vs Mexico: Head to head Stats
Denmark have hosted Mexico just once before, half a century ago(!). It was in 1969, a 3-1 Denmark win in a friendly game.
Denmark vs Mexico: Prediction
The game is held in Denmark. The hosts are considered relatively clear favorites to win, but I wouldn’t bet against Mexico.
Denmark vs Mexico: Betting Tips
Mexico’s win in “draw no bet” pays 2.33. Their double chance is at 1.68. “Under 2.5 goals” feels very probable, but doesn’t pay more than 1.60. For that sort of odds, I prefer Mexico’s double chance.
