Everton vs Caracas
Competition: Copa Sudamericana
Date: 23 February 2018
Kick-off: 01:30 CET
Everton finished 4th in last season’s championship in Chile, and this is how they earned a ticket to the Copa Sudamericana. Interestingly, they have lost both home games these last three weeks, since the start of the new season in Chile. Last weekend they lost 1-0 to Universidad Católica, despite coming from a 2-1 win at O’Higgins. Truth is, it all went wrong for them last weekend; they conceded early, they were reduced to 10 men before the end of the first half, so… Last season they beat Patriotas Boyacá 1-0 at home in the first leg of their first round tie in the same competition, but lost by the same score in Colombia, and then got eliminated on penalties.
Caracas’ first win of the season couldn’t have come at a better moment, just before flying to Chile for their first leg against Everton. They beat Aragua 2-1 away from home on Friday, their first win in the Venezuela championship after a defeat and two draws. It was a rather comfortable win, taking the lead early, making it 2-0 in the 64th minute, and seeing the gap get reduced to one goal only late in the match, from the penalty spot. Caracas earned a Copa Sudamericana ticket as second-placed in last season’s Apertura tournament. They competed last season as season. They drew 1-1 in Asunción to Cerro Porteño in the first leg of the first round, they had the advantage going into the return leg at home, but despite taking the lead, they lost 2-1 and got eliminated.

Everton vs Caracas: Head to head Stats
Caracas are one of the very few non-Chilean teams Everton have faced in the past (in official matches). The Viña del Mar side hosted Caracas back in 2009 in a Copa Libertadores group stage game which they won 1-0.
Everton vs Caracas: Prediction
Everton are considered huge favourites to win the game. Personally, I’m leaving winners and losers aside, I’m betting on goals instead.
Everton vs Caracas: Betting Tips
“Under 2.5 combined goals” is my main tip, but it’s not paying better than 1.55. Pushing it, I would risk with “under 1.5”, at 2.75, which suits my 0-0 or 1-0 (for Everton) hunch.
