Flamengo vs Atletico Paranaense
Competition: Brazil Serie A
Date: 1 December 2018
Kick-off: 22:00 CET
Flamengo fans didn’t leave a single ticket go wasted for this weekend’s match. Despite not having managed to win the championship title, the fans will be there for the last game of the season, a season that ends without any trophy for the Rio de Janeiro giants. The club announced about 30 hours before kick-off that all tickets were sold, more than 68,000(!). No matter what happens in this game, Flamengo will finish second. On another note, they were hoping to lure Renato Gaúcho to Maracana, have him as their next coach, but the former Fla player decided to renew his contract with Gremio. Abel Braga seems to be the favorite these days, to succeed Dorival Júnior. On yet another note, there is information that members of certain Flamengo fan clubs, “organized supporters”, were/are planning to fight either outside or even inside the stadium (“for power and money”, as a police spokesperson put it), and the local authorities have taken measures to prevent that.
What an end of the season for Atlético Paranaense…Midweek, they beat Fluminense 0-2 in Rio de Janeiro, validating their ticket to the Copa Sudamericana. They are visiting Colombian side Junior on Wednesday, in Barranquilla, in the first leg. The return one will be exactly a week later, at home, Curitiba. Not that the Serie A is over for them; they are sitting 7th in the table, two points behind 6th-placed Atlético Mineiro. If they win in Rio, and Atlético Mineiro don’t beat Botafogo at home, the Curitiba side will finish 6th, and secure a ticket to next season’s Copa Libertadores qualifiers. If they win the Copa Sudamericana, they will lift their first international trophy ever, plus, they’ll earn a big bonus, a spot in next season’s Libertadores group stage. Important-important detail: according to various reports, Tiago Nunes will have mostly reserves in the starting lineup at Maracana, having prioritized the upcoming Sudamericana final.

Fla’s win is at 1.65. For more than that, I would risk with the same, combined with a clean sheet. Like that, it pays 2.62.
