Force vs Rebels
Competition: Super Rugby
Date: 07 July 2017
Kick-off: 13:55 CET
The Rebels have always been a poor side in Super rugby, but this has been a really horrible season. They face the Force in a battle of proving who is worthy of Super Rugby next season as one Aussie team will be cut from the competition.
The News is that it is either between the Force or the Rebels to see who loses their franchise ownership in Super Rugby. Both have not put up a very good showing all season long, and of they are basing it on quality rugby, it would have to be the Rebels that go. In their 13 games the Rebels have won just a single game, they did also draw with the Sharks in a game that was too terrible for words. Surprisingly though, that one win was against the Aussie conference leaders the Brumbies and the week after they drew. The Rebels since then however have faced a six game losing streak as other Aussie sides lie the Reds and the Brumbies have got their revenge while they also lost to the Kings.
The Force have been a little better this year, and are on equal points with the Reds who are guaranteed safety. Although, four win out of 13 games does not sound like much, but the leading Brumbies have won just two more games. The Force are also in a lot better form as they have won two out of their last four games, and that includes doing the double over the Reds and beating the Argentinian Jaguares. The Force are also in threat of getting kicked out, but a win against their direct competitor will go a long way in securing their future.
Force vs Rebels: Head-to-Head Stats
These games are always close, in fact, other than a 25 point blowout win by the Force in 2014, no team has won by more than seven points. However, in the their 12 game history, the Force have only won three times to the Rebels’ nine wins.
Force vs Rebels: Prediction
The Rebels are having their worst season ever. Even worse than when they first entered Super Rugby. They have not got much direction or hope, and traveling away to play the Force is a really tough encounter. The Force have gotten better as the season has moved along, and they will be targeting this match as a grudge match to try and prove a point. Expect the Force to win, but a close one.
Force vs Rebels: Tips
- Force to win by less than seven
- Rebels to score first points of the game.
