Gremio vs Libertad
Competition: Copa Libertadores
Date: 13 March 2019
Kick-off: 01:30 CET
Given that they went 1-0 down less than two minutes into the game, things for Gremio could have gone worse than drawing 1-1 in Rosario last week. They equalized quickly, had chances to score a second and even a third goal, generally they looked more threatening than Central, but that 1-1 didn’t change, leaving the Porto Alegre side with a point. Not a bad result, despite Central’s poor form lately. It was still a point away from home on a group stage debut. On Saturday they beat São José 3-0 playing with an entirely alternative lineup. It’s worth mentioning that Diego Tardelli, a veteran striker Gremio signed to deal with the departure of Jael (mostly), made his debut last weekend, and received a standing ovation by Gremio fans at their impressive stadium.
Unthinkable… Last Tuesday, Libertad destroyed Universidad Católica 4-1 in Asunción, but before midnight, their – former – coach, Colombian Leonel Álvarez, was informed that he was no longer working for them(!). If you’re wondering “how is that possible?”, join the club. Libertad gave some… generic justification, saying that Álvarez’s dismissal had nothing to do with results, but was down to a problem between the Colombian and a member of the board of directors. There is a rumour that Álvarez had an affair with the wife of an “important” (at Libertad) man, but… obviously, that’s not official. Libertad claim that they had every reason to fire the Colombian coach, and look pretty sure that they won’t even need to compensate him, “because he violated a contract clause”. Mystery… José Chamot has taken over, telling reporters this is “a golden opportunity” for him. On Saturday, on his debut, they drew 2-2 at Sportivo Luqueño.

Gremio vs Libertad: Head to head Stats
No history between these two.
Gremio vs Libertad: Prediction
No matter how impressive Libertad looked last week in Asunción against Universidad Católica, I don’t see them leave Porto Alegre with a point.
Gremio vs Libertad: Betting Tips
Given that a simple Gremio win pays less than 1.50, I would go for “Gremio and over 2.5 goals”, at 2.40, unless “Gremio and over 1.5”, at 1.75, is enough for you.
