Harlequins vs Gloucester
Competition: Aviva Premiership Rugby
Date: 09 September 2017
Kick off: 16:00 CET
Gloucester pulled off an absolute stunning result as they toppled the defending champions in a game that they would usually throw away at the end, they will want to prove they can do similar on the road at Harlequins.
It must have been the Akermann factors as the new coach who has come from the very successful Lions in South Africa is already making an impact on the winning culture of the South West side. The Cherry and White were serial blunderers last season as they would throw winning games away and get close to winning games they were losing but against Exeter it was a different ball game. Trailing badly through the first half the home side mounted a comeback that saw them get a head, then draw level, before finishing the game off with a late Jason Woodward try on the 80 minute mark for a famous win over Exeter.
Harlequins did not get off to a great start in comparison to their opponents as they fell to recently promoted London Irish on the road. The Irish were billed as prepared for this jump up to the top league with the recruitments they made, however they were clinical against the much fancied, and international packed, Harlequins. There was not a moment in the game where Irish trailed their visiting opponents as they kept the scoreboard ticking with penalties and tries at key moments. The Quins were clearly outplayed and will know they have to get things right against a buoyant Gloucester side.

Harlequins vs Gloucester: Head to Head Stats
The harlequins have been the better side in this fixture over the last 10 encounters as they have won six games while Gloucester have won only three, but also drawn one. The games have all been very close though as in 13 games there has never been a winning margin over eight points.
Harlequins vs Gloucester: Prediction
Harlequins really let themselves down and this game will be a defining one to see how they can bounce back, especially at home, and especially against a reinvigorated Gloucester side. However, the Cherry and Whites will not be lying down any more this season and even away from home will be a threat. It will be a close one again, but Gloucester could win it.
