Huddersfield vs Southampton
Competition: England Premier League
Date: 22 December 2018
Kick-off: 16:00 CET
Four defeats in a row, half of those at home, have left Huddersfield Town second-to-last in the table, on just 10 points from 17 matches. Three of those defeats were to teams featuring in the lower half of the Premier League table, another detail that makes that “four defeats in a row” feel even… worse. Huddersfield are expected to start with Lossl, Zanka, Kongolo, Schindler, Hadergjonaj, Lowe, Billing, Pritchard, Hogg, Bacuna and Depoitre. Four guys, Williams, Smith, Sabiri and Mooy are dealing with injury problems. Huddersfield have scored just 10 goals in 17 matches, I repeat, 10 goals, in 17 matches, which feels… surreal. They started the season tipped to be among the teams that would fight to avoid relegation, that is the case indeed, but still, 10 goals scored in more than 1500 minutes is just… too-too poor.
What a win for Southampton last weekend, a crazy 3-2 at home over Arsenal, a team that hadn’t lost in 22 consecutive matches. The Saints took the lead in the 20th minute, again in the 44th (Danny Ings scored both), but to win the game they needed a third goal, in the 85th minute, scored by Charlie Austin. Henrikh Mkhitaryan had equalized for Arsenal, twice. It was Southampton’s first win in 15 games, leaving aside their qualification over Everton in the League Cup, on penalties, after a 1-1 draw. That triumph over the Gunners lifted them up above the relegation line. They are on 12 points, level with Burnley, but with an advantage over them. They are expected to start with McCarthy, Bednarek, Vestergaard, Yoshida, Targett, Valery, Redmond, Hojbjerg, Romeu, Armstrong and Ings.

Huddersfield vs Southampton: Prediction
I would leave this game aside. Anything can happen in any match, but this one feels even more open to any result than other games.
Huddersfield vs Southampton: Betting Tips
If I absolutely had to choose something to bet on this game, I would go for “under 2.5 and no on both teams to score”, at 2.05.
