Huracan vs Estudiantes
Competition: Argentina Superliga
Date: 19 March 2019
Kick-off: 01:10 CET
Huracán were better than Emelec last week in Guayaquil, in their Copa Libertadores group stage game, but they missed all their scoring chances, and had to settle for a goalless draw. It was their first sort of positive result after four consecutive losses, Copa Libertadores and Superliga combined. They are the only Superliga team to have lost three games in a row in the championship, generally they have earned just two points from their last six games, that’s two points from possible 18(!), so it’s no wonder they have dropped 10th in the table. Last weekend they lost 1-3 to San martín de Tucumán(!), at home(!!), a shameful result. They played with several reserves, a common tactic by many South American teams when in the middle of CONMEBOL competition matches.
Estudiantes beat Gimnasia last weekend in La Plata’s big derby, 1-0, and soon after that, it was announced that the club had hired Gabriel Milito as their new coach, three years and three months after his departure from El Pincha. Milito has worked at Estudiantes before, leaving good impressions, and maintaining a good relationship with key-people at the club, namely Juan Sebastián Verón, the president. He signed a contract until June 2020. Estudiantes had lost three games in a row before beating Gimnasia, a game full of controversies, which left the defeated feeling they were the victims of important refereeing mistakes. Estudiantes sit 18th in the Superliga table, on 24 points from 22 matches, far behind the Copa Sudamericana positions. Their dream for next season is to start it having signed Javier Mascherano(!), not an easy mission, given that the former Argentina international is currently plying his trade in China, earning money that no Argentinian club (let alone Estudiantes) can pay.

Huracan vs Estudiantes: Head to head Stats
Huracán have three 1-0 victories in a row at home over Estudiantes, all the last four years. Before that, the La Plata side had back-to-back wins, but in 2009 and 2011.
Huracan vs Estudiantes: Prediction
There is little doubt that generally “speaking”, Huracán have a better team than Estudiantes. Right now though, with their morale super low, and with Estudiantes under the command of a new coach, I like the visitors’ chances of leaving Parque Patricios with at least one point.
Huracan vs Estudiantes: Betting Tips
Estudiantes’ win in “draw no bet” is at 2.22, and their double chance at 1.62.
