Independiente CG vs Guarani
Competition: Paraguay Clausura
Date: 13 October 2018
Kick-off: 01:15 CET
It feels like this is… all or nothing for Independiente de Campo Grande. Last weekend they beat Nacional 0-3(!), their first win in 10(!) matches. A couple of days later, the club paid the players money they owed them, sort of… rewarding them for their excellent performance and massive triumph at Arsenio Erico. “All or nothing”, in the sense that… if they earn enough points to avoid relegation (they are fourth-to-last in the “promedio” table), then they’ll have earned enough points, most probably, to qualify for a Copa Sudamericana ticket as well. If they fail to gather enough points these next weeks, not only they’ll get relegated, but they’ll miss the golden opportunity to play international football as well. Inde had an awesome Apertura, and right now they are 6th in the “tabla acumulativa”, in which all points from both tournaments (Apertura and Clausura) are taken into account. The teams placed 5th to 7th in that table, get Copa Sudamericana tickets, and depending on who wins the Copa Paraguay, even the 8th-placed may qualifie for the Sudamericana.
In the same “tabla acumulativa” mentioned earlier, Guaraní are 8th at the moment, at the very edge of playing or not playing international football next season. They lost to Cerro Porteño last weekend, 0-1, at Defensores del Chaco, their first defeat in five matches. Gustavo Florentín, the coach, told reporters that he felt his players gave their all against the Clausura leaders, and expressed the belief that the final weeks of the season will be great for Guaraní, who should, one way or another (they are still active in the Copa Paraguay as well, a competition that gives a Copa Sudamericana ticket), do well enough to play international football next season.

Independiente CG vs Guarani: Head to head Stats
Two wins for Inde and one for Guaraní at Ricardo Gregor the last year and a half. Before that, they hadn’t met there since 2012.
Independiente CG vs Guarani: Prediction
Guaraní are considered rather clear favorites to win the game, but after their impressive performance last weekend against Nacional, I feel I have to back Inde to do well enough to earn at least a draw at home.
Independiente CG vs Guarani: Betting Tips
Inde’s double chance, at 1.87, is my main tip. Their win in “draw no bet” pays 2.90.
