Internacional vs Atletico Paranaense
Competition: Brazil Serie A
Date: 4 November 2018
Kick-off: 22:00 CET
Internacional took the lead at Vasco da Gama last weekend in the 85th minute, they would be second in the table, three points behind leaders Palmeiras at the end of the 31st game week if they had held on to that lead, but they got equalized in added time, form the penalty spot. Their reaction next day, was to start a… campaign, trying to get more Série A clubs on their side, asking from the Brazilian Football Confederation to have the VAR system in place, at least in the last 4-5 game weeks of the championship. VAR has already been used in the Copa do Brasil this season, and Inter are the ones who seem more… eager to have it available in the Série A as well, as soon as possible. They have won just one of their last four matches, but remain in with a chance to win the title.
Atlético Paranaense lost at home to Bahia midweek, but they still qualified for the Copa Sudamericana semifinals. They had won 0-1 in Salvador, they lost by the same score in Curitiba, the tie went to penalties, and there, they did better than their rivals. They are hosting another Brazilian team, Fluminense, in a few days, in the first leg of their semifinal tie, so it’s a common secret that Tiago Nunes will start the game with a heavily rotated side, giving practically all his regulars a much-needed rest. Atlético are on 43 points in the Série A, fighting for a Copa Libertadores ticket, which they can win through the Sudamericana as well, but only if they win that competition.

Internacional vs Atletico Paranaense: Head to head Stats
Inter have three consecutive wins at home over Atlético. Before that, two games in a row had ended in a draw.
Internacional vs Atletico Paranaense: Prediction
Internacional’s win pays way lower than what it would be paying if Atlético didn’t have their Copa Sudamericana… distraction.
Internacional vs Atletico Paranaense: Betting Tips
Inter’s win pays so low, 1.55, that I’m almost tempted to go against it. Deep down though, I do expect them to win. Atlético have scored just two goals in their last seven away games in the championship, so for more than 1.55, I would risk with “Inter to win and keep a clean sheet”, at 2.25.
