Internacional vs Vasco da Gama
Competition: Brazil Serie A
Date: 14 June 2018
Kick-off: 02:45 CET
There are Série A teams that can’t wait for the World Cup finals break to come, and then there is… Internacional, whose coach, Odair Hellmann, said he wished the break was still a couple of weeks away. Inter have four wins and three draws in their last seven matches, having climbed up to the top-6, which, at the end of the season, will give Copa Libertadores tickets. Last weekend they beat Santos 2-1 away from home, a game in which, as their coach put it, “everything worked”. Leandro Damião scored his 100th goal for Internacional, a mark he didn’t know about, and had to be… informed by a reporter after the match. The Porto Alegre side have conceded just one goal in their last three games, that one against Santos, from the penalty spot.
Vasco da Gama… suffered, but they beat Sport Recife 3-2 at home last weekend, a result better than what it may look, keeping in mind how good Sport have been since the start of the season. Actually, Vasco needed a last-minute goal to earn all three points, having taken the lead twice earlier, only to get equalized as many times. Coach Jorginho will need to… improvise, as he has four center-backs missing. Ricardo Graça is out due to cards, Werley and Breno are still recovering from injuries, and Paulão is also unavailable due to a clause in his contract (he plays at Vasco on loan from Internacional). It’s… mind-blowing that Vasco have played only in three games this season with the same two center-backs. All sorts of problems have obliged them to change their duo at the center of their defense almost every week (if not twice a week).

Internacional vs Vasco da Gama: Head to head Stats
Four wins for Inter and a draw, in the last five games between these two in Porto Alegre.
Internacional vs Vasco da Gama: Prediction
It’s impressing that Inter have conceded just one goal in five home games this season. Deep down I expect them to win, but I feel 1.50 does not correspond to the risk involved in betting on their victory alone. Vasco have lost just one game on the road in this Série A campaign.
Internacional vs Vasco da Gama: Betting Tips
“Internacional to win and keep a clean sheet” is at 2.20, and makes Inter’s victory worth it. “Under 2.5 goals” is at 1.66, not huge, but very-very probable.
