Ireland U20 vs New Zealand U20
Competition: World Rugby Under 20 Championship
Date: 08 June 2017
Kick-off: 13:30 CET
Ireland have had a really tough tournament thus far, and they haven’t even met the toughest prospect in their group. Up next for the Irish is the Kiwis who wait knowing that they are basically assured of a top four spot anyway – which may aid the ailing Irish.
New Zealand are always a threat in this competition, and do not often drop points in the group stages. They have already won two games, beating Scotland and Italy with ease and picking up two bonus point wins for 10 points. This New Zealand side is also lacking some of their biggest stars as the likes of Jordie Barrett and company have all remained with their Super Rugby sides despite still being eligible for this competition. New Zealand will know that they are pretty confident in taking a top four spot with their 10 points, but they can be easily overtaken should they not pick up any points in this last game.
For Ireland, they have had a really poor run of things, they would have expected a tough match against the Scots, but still to be good enough to win there, but they would have been shocked by the result against a determined Italian side. It sees the Irish sitting on just two points in their two games, both from bonus points, it also means that the highest they can reach is seven points with a big win against the Kiwis. There is not too much hope for the Irish however when they face the Kiwis as they have not been exactly unlucky in their losses, they have been outplayed by slightly better teams. In New Zealand they will meet a team that is much better in general than them.
Ireland U20 vs New Zealand U20: Tournament performance
First it was the shock 22-21 loss to the Italians for the Irish, and then they would have thought that they will be good enough for the next match, only to be defeated by the Scots 28-32 in another tight one.
New Zealand have made light work of both Scotland and Italy, picking up a bonus point win in their 42-20 victory against the Scots first up, and then hammering Italy 68-26.
Ireland U20 vs New Zealand U20: Prediction
Ireland have not shown enough in this tournament to even have a passing thought that they may be good enough to beat the New Zealand side. They have been poor against weaker teams, but against New Zealand they will meet their match, and a lot more. New Zealand will also aim for another five points to be assured of the highest spot possible.

Expect the Kiwis to run rampant in this game as they Irish start to bow out mentally of this tournament. It could go as high as 40+ points for the New Zealanders.
