Jablonec vs Rennes
Competition: UEFA Europa League
Date: 29 November 2018
Kick-off: 21:00 CET
How can Jablonec qualify? By winning both their last two games (that way they would finish on eight points), and by seeing Dynamo Kiev lose not just to them in two weeks, but also to Astana in Kazakhstan this week. If Dynamo and Jablonec finish level on points (with the Czech side winning in Ukraine), it’s Jablonec who will finish in the top-2. All these are obviously… mathematical scenarios. Deep down, Jablonec know their chances of still being active in the competition after the winter break are close to zero. Three weeks ago they lost 2-1 at Astana conceding in the 88th minute. Last weekend they drew 0-0 at Sparta Prague. They are fourth in the table in Czechia’s championship, on 30 points from 16 matches.
Rennes beat Jablonec at home back in September, but ever since then they have lost all three matches. Three weeks ago they lost rather easily to Dynamo in Ukraine, 3-1, scoring their goal in the 89th minute, when everything was already decided. Three points, two matches left, hosting Astana in two weeks, one thing is for sure, Rennes must-must beat Jablonec to have any chance of finishing in the top-2. This game kicks-off after the end of the Astana vs Dynamo Kiev match. If Astana haven’t won, I think Rennes will have an extra motive, because a win in Czechia will get them within striking distance of the team they’ll be hosting in two weeks. If Astana win, Rennes will still have mathematical chances, but even if they beat Jablonec, they’ll depend on them in two weeks to beat Dynamo in Ukraine, which feels like a very long shot.

Jablonec vs Rennes: Head to head Stats
Jablonec have never hosted Rennes before.
Jablonec vs Rennes: Prediction
Remember, this game kick-offs after the end of the match in Kazakhstan between Astana and Dynamo Kiev. If that match has ended in a draw, Jablonec will be out, mathematically.
Jablonec vs Rennes: Betting Tips
Rennes’ win in “draw no bet” is at 1.83. Their double chance is low, 1.48. I expect the game in Kazakhstan to have ended in a draw, and Rennes to be much more motivated than Jablonec, for reasons already explained.
