Kerkyra vs AEK Athens
Competition: Greece Super League
Date: 29 April 2018
Kick-off: 18:00 CET
It feels like… gave over for Kerkyra. Their 3-1 defeat at home last weekend means that to avoid relegation they need to beat AEK (good luck with that…), beat Atromitos as well next weekend, and at the same time they need Lamia to lose both their last games. What’s ironic is that even if Kerkyra win both games and Lamia earn a simple draw in the last two game weeks, they will finish level on points, and it’s Lamia who will avoid relegation, because their overall goal-difference in the Super League is better than that of Kerkyra. “Miracle”, that’s the word, Kerkyra need a football miracle to play Super League football next season as well. Attacking midfielder Martín Rolle got sent-off last weekend and is unavailable.
AEK Athens have already celebrated winning the championship title, their first in over 20 years. They beat Levadiakos 2-0 at home last weekend, meaning that their gap to second-placed PAOK cannot be covered in the two remaining games weeks. What gap? Depends how you see it… According to the Super League official website, it’s two points, and both teams have 27 matches each, not 28, because PAOK are still fighting for that game against AEK that was never concluded. At this point though, it feels almost impossible to see the first two decisions overturned. AEK feel they have an eight-point gap (0-3 win on paper at PAOK, and three points deducted from the Thessaloniki side), a gap impossible to cover in two matches. Attackers Sergio Araujo and Lazaros Christodoulopoulos are out due to cards.

Two 1-1 draws between these two in Corfu the last three years. Before that, in 2013, AEK had won 1-0.
Kerkyra vs AEK Athens: Prediction
It’s Kerkyra who are desperate for points, I wish I believed in their double chance, it pays an awesome 4.50, but I don’t believe in them.
Kerkyra vs AEK Athens: Betting Tips
AEK have six wins in a row without having conceded a goal (actually they did concede, at PAOK, a goal stolen from the Thessaloniki side in the 89th minute, a goal that should have them first in the table right now), but haven’t scored that many goals. My only tip is “under 2.5 goals”, at 2.20, unless you are ok with 1.44 (“under 3.5 goals”).
