Khimki Moscow vs Olympiacos Piraeus
Competition: Turkish Airlines Euroleague
Date: 12 October 2018
Time: 18:00 CET
Khimki Moscow were not very strong in the Euroleague last season, but eventually made it to the playoffs. They finished at the 8th spot in the regular season (W16 L14), and were unlucky to get fellow Russians CSKA Moscow in the playoffs. They only won a single match in that match-up and were no match for CSKA Moscow (1-3). Khimki Moscow lost quite a few players in the off-season, like Anderson, Todorovic, Pateevm Robinson and Sokolov, while Honeycutt is sadly deceased. Most of these players had solid experience in the Euroleague, and Khimki Moscow did very little to replace them. They brought in Gubanov and Dee Bost, along with Casey Prather, Tony Crocker and former Miami Heat Jordan Mickey.
On the other hand, Olympiacos Piraeus were excellent in the Euroleague last season, especially in the first half were they were in the two top spots. They did fell off in the second half, but eventually finished 3rd with a solid W19 L11 record and the 2nd best defense in the competition. But the Greeks did not have much luck in the playoffs, as they were humiliated by Zalgiris Kaunas (W1 L3). Olympiacos Piraeus cleaned house after a pretty bad season by their own standards. They let go of most of their Americans, as Thompson, Brown, Wiltjer, Roberts and McLean departed, along with Tillie and Papapetrou. They brought in coach David Blatt from Darussafaka, along with Timma, Toupane, Vezenkov, LeDay and Williams-Goss.

Khimki Moscow vs Olympiacos Piraeus: Prediction
Both teams made quite a few changes in their roster in the off-season, and I wouldn’t say that they were reinforced. I think that Khimki Moscow actually lost more than they gained, while Olympiacos Piraeus also lost some good players but did bring in some. It’s hard to pick a winner here, so we will take a look at the Over/Under.
Khimki Moscow vs Olympiacos Piraeus: Betting Tips
I will take the Over 153.5 points here @1.90, a line that has been confirmed in three of the previous four matches in this venue. Both teams have produced high-scoring matches so far in the new season too. Khimki Moscow can also extend their home dominance against their opponents here and cover the -1 spread @1.90.
