Kitchee vs Jeonbuk Motors
Competition: AFC Champions League
Date: 20 February 2018
Kick-off: 13:00 CET
In the first half at Tianjin Quanjian last week, it looked like Kitchee would get… massacred. They were lucky not to concede in the first 30 minutes, Tianjin had good chances, but the Chinese side did score three goals before the end of the first half, practically one after the other. Thankfully for Kitchee, and for those of you who followed my “Tianjin and under 3.5 goals” (2.20) suggestion, the hosts slowed down in the second half. On the other hand, Kitchee looked almost totally harmless offensively, so that 3-0 didn’t change. The positive they take from that match is that at least defensively, in the second half, they looked good. Sure, Tianjin had slowed down, but still, to keep a team with players like Modeste and Pato from creating a real chance in a whole half is… something (the Brazilian got substituted in the 62nd minute, but Modeste played almost until the final whistle). No game for Kitchee last weekend.
What a game in Jeonju last week, what a comeback by Jeonbuk Motors. Their win (1.95) and their “over 1.5” (2.00) were my suggestions, I expected them to win and score twice, but… less than half an hour into the match, they were 2-0 down(!). They stayed there until the 55th minute, when they finally went on the counterattack. Lee Dong-Gook made it 1-2, and the same player gave Jeonbuk all three points with his second personal goal (and what a goal) in the 84th minute. Kim Jin-Su had equalised a bit earlier. No words to describe my admiration towards Lee, a… phenomenon, a guy who at his 38 not just keeps scoring, but scoring fantastic goals. Mind you, he is the AFC CL’s all-time leading scorer, and judging by the way he started this group campaign, his record is going to look even more impressive come the end of this stage. No game for Jeonbuk Motors last weekend.

Kitchee vs Jeonbuk Motors: Prediction
I don’t expect Kitchee to upset their visitors, but Jeonbuk’s win pays way too little.
Kitchee vs Jeonbuk Motors: Betting Tips
At just 1.19, I’m not touching Jeonbuk’s win. “Over 3.5 combined goals” is a bet I like, counting on the hosts to contribute a goal to that, obviously lose the game, but I repeat, do their bit in pushing the game over 3.5 goals. It pays 2.01, and I consider the risk involved one worth taking, keeping in mind how both teams looked in their matches last week.
