Korona Kielce vs Pogon Szczecin
Competition: Poland Ekstraklasa
Date: 3 March 2018
Kick-off: 18:00 CET
It’s difficult to comment on Korona’s game midweek, at Wisla Krakow, keeping in mind the harsh weather conditions, and the way less than stellar pitch. Even the fans stayed away, with Wisla selling just over 4000 tickets. The Kielce side took the lead in the 21st minute, got equalised before half time, their coach took zero risks in the second half, looked perfectly fine with leaving Krakow with a single point, and… that’s what happened. Korona have the players to score 2-3 goals in every match, they have done so in many cases, but there are several games in which their bench seems to be just fine with not losing, and nothing more than that. They are 5th in the table, five points ahead of Arka Gdynia, the first team in the lower half of the table. Be reminded, the top eight teams continue in the “championship” round, while the other eight teams play in the “relegation round”.
Korona struggled with the pitch in Krakow, and Pogon had a similar problem in Zabrze midweek. Obviously hosts Gornik as well. A game that under… better weather conditions could have been an awesome way to spend two hours watching, ended up in a goalless draw. Even so, the result was positive for Pogon, a draw at the home of the 4th-placed team. Especially in Zabrze, against this season’s Gornik, it’s almost… unthinkable to keep a clean sheet, but Pogon did, so… kudos to them, not just for that, but generally for the way they have been looking since late November/early December. From… laughable, they have gone to being a team you think twice before betting against.

Korona Kielce vs Pogon Szczecin: Head to head Stats
Two wins for Korona and three draws in the last five games between these two in Kielce. All five matches but one, had at least three goals (usually more).
Korona Kielce vs Pogon Szczecin: Prediction
Korona are considered favourites to win, but I’m backing Pogon to leave Kielce undefeated.
Korona Kielce vs Pogon Szczecin: Betting Tips
Pogon’s double chance pays 1.60, not fantastic, but good enough, keeping in mind that Pogon have been a very improved team for weeks now. “Under 2.5 goals”, at 1.70, is my other tip, only because of the weather conditions in Poland these days, which make playing “normal” football hard.
