LDU Quito vs Guabira
Competition: Copa Sudamericana
Date: 11 April 2018
Kick-off: 00:15 CET
LDU Quito have seen much-much better days, playing in the Copa Sudamericana (picking up just the last-last ticket) and not in the Libertadores is something that… hurts their fans and the club’s pride/prestige, but on the other hand, they’ve been here, they have won the Sudamericana before, they know that a great season in this competition will put the team once again on the map, CONMEBOL competitions-wise. One thing they definitely have going for them these days, is their form. They haven’t played since April 1, which was when they beat Independiente del Valle 2-1, their third win in a row (including a big 1-0 victory at Emelec, in Guayaquil), and fifth in their last six games in Ecuador’s championship (they have a draw as well). They are third in the table, four points behind leaders Barcelona, but they have a game in hand.
I wouldn’t blame you if you were left wondering where Guabirá are from, even if you’re following South American football. The Bolivian side are nowhere near The Strongest and Bolívar in terms of… international recognition, they haven’t even played international football in years, but here they are now, having earned a Copa Sudamericana ticket thanks to their 6th spot in Bolivia’s championship last year. This season is turning into a totally different thing. They are the worst performing team in the country’s top division, they are on just seven points from 11 matches, having won only once(!). They also have the second worst defensive record, conceding almost two goals per game on average.

LDU Quito vs Guabira: Head to head Stats
LDU have hosted Guabirá once before, more than 40 years ago (1976). They beat them 4-0 in a Copa Libertadores group stage match.
LDU Quito vs Guabira: Prediction
I can’t imagine LDU not winning this game, but their victory pays too little.
LDU Quito vs Guabira: Betting Tips
A simple LDU win pays just 1.30. “Over 2.5 goals” is at 1.80 betting odds, and sort of makes sense, given LDU’s great form, and Guabirá’s poor defensive record. Combining the two, you get to hope for something closer to 2.00.
