Leicester vs Liverpool
Competition: Premier League
Date: 27 February 2017
Kick-off: 21:00 CET
If ever there were two teams going through a rough patch in the Premier League, it would be Liverpool and Leicester, but for very different reasons. Liverpool have recently taken a dip in form and are trying to stay in the top five, while the Foxes have been dipping badly all season and are trying to stay in the Premier League.
After a poor start, and then an even poorer continuation of the season, Leicester’s bosses made a bold move to sack their Premier League winning manager Claudio Ranieri. The Italian won them the title out of nowhere last season, and only nine months down the line he has been given the sack while still holding the manager of the year medal. To be honest, Leicester needed a change, as they were getting closer and closer to falling off the Premier League map as they now have entered the relegation zone with teams around them playing before them in this round of fixtures.
For Liverpool, their woes are of different concerns. They had come into the season with much hope and promise, and then played some great football to push themselves helpfully into second spot, but they have had a spate of bad games seeing them drop out of club competitions, but also down the log. Liverpool are down in fifth at the moment, and although they managed to win their last game, 2-0 against a good Tottenham side, they still have a lot of work to do to make up for their past bad results. They had lost to Hull and Swansea before that, two teams in the relegation zone, while drawing with big boys Chelsea and Manchester United.
Leicester vs Liverpool: Head-to-Head Stats
Liverpool do have the advantage in this fixture of the few years it has been played. There have been 21 game in total and the Scousers have won it 10 times while the Foxes have won just six and there have been five draws. The first time these teams met in the season was at home for Liverpool where they destroyed the Foxes, 4-1.
Leicester vs Liverpool: Prediction
Leicester have really been rocked by the news of Ranieri, however it has emerged the senior players wanted him out. With such a disruption, there is no real reason that Leicester should do better than they have recently, but at the same token, if the players wanted the coach out, they have had their wish. However, Liverpool are also looking back to their best after the Spurs win, so they should win this game well.
Leicester vs Liverpool: Tips
Liverpool can score a lot of goals if they are back in form, so expect it to be a goals fest for only the visiting side though.
