Leicester vs Manchester United
Competition: Premier League
Date: 05 February 2017
Kick-off: 17:00 CET
Having stormed out of a press briefing after his third draw in a row, you can bet that Manchester United’s boss will be demanding a good win when they take on the defending champions who are edging closer and closer to the relegation zone.
Leicester are now equal on points with a team that has just escaped the bottom three, Swansea, and who is the fourth bottom team. It spells danger for the Foxes as they could go from Champions to relegated within one season which would be a hugely disappointing result for the fairytale side. They are currently on a three game losing streak with their latest result a 1-0 loss to Burnley, and a game against a wounded Manchester United side will not make for easy pickings.
United are on their own poor streak as they have now racked up three draws in their last three games. First the draw to Liverpool was an okay result, but drawing to Stoke, and then to Hull who they beat to get into the League Cup final, did not sit well with the Red Devils. They looked as if they had turned the corner, although never really made any moves on the log, but these draws will be a worry as Everton start to catch up to them with their own good play.
Leicester vs Manchester United: Head-to-Head Stats
There has not been much joy for the Foxes in this fixture over the year. In 21 meeting, just two games have gone the way of Leicester, and there has been six draws. The rest of the results see United sweeping 13 wins with the first meeting between these two this season ending in a big 4-1 win for United.
Leicester vs Manchester United: Prediction
Even with United in a slump, they should be able to pull off a win at Leicester. The biggest factor against that however is that Leicester have a pretty good home record which has forced some teams to accept draws at the very least, not something that United will be happy to do. It will be a grind, but the Red Devils should get a 1-0 win.
Leicester vs Manchester United: Tips
The home advantage will be big, but only big enough to slow a wounded and hungry United. Look for a close win with not too many goals in this game.
