Libertad vs Santa Fe
Competition: Copa Sudamericana
Date: 25 August 2017
Kick-off: 02:45 CET
Libertad were impressive against Huracan in the previous round of the Copa Sudamericana, they beat their Argentine opponents 5-1(!) away from home and 2-0 in Paraguay, but that 2-0, early August, is their last win ever since. After drawing twice by the same score, 1-1, in the championship, last weekend they lost 2-1 to General Diaz, playing, though, with ten men for over an hour, and conceding (both goals) just in the last minutes of a very eventful match. Actually, their 2-0 over Huracan is their only win in their last four home games, and only one of the two matches that they scored in (the other being their loss to General Diaz a few days ago).
Santa Fe’s 2-0 home win over Deportivo Cali last weekend couldn’t have come at a better moment. The team were struggling lately, they needed a win combined with a good display, and that’s exactly what they got against Deportivo. In the previous round of the Copa Sudamericana they suffered against lowly Fuerza Amarilla from Ecuador, but things have changed since then, they have two players available, both strikers, Jhon Pajoy and Anderson Plata. The latter scored their second goal against Deportivo Cali. Both are expected to start the game in Asuncion.

Libertad vs Santa Fe: Head to head Stats
Libertad have faced eight Colombian teams in the past, but interestingly, Santa Fe are not among them.
Libertad vs Santa Fe: Prediction
Libertad’s win pays 1.75, which suits me just fine, because I trust this Santa Fe to leave Asuncion undefeated, and their double chance pays very well.
Libertad vs Santa Fe: Betting Tips
‘Draw or Santa Fe’ is at 2.00 betting odds, which I prefer much-much better to Libertad’s 1.75. Santa Fe’s roster is far superior to that of Libertad’s and the fact that the Paraguayan side is playing at home doesn’t mean that much, if you look at how poor they have been as hosts lately.
