Libertad vs Sol de America
Competition: Paraguay Apertura
Date: 10 March 2018
Kick-off: 00:15 CET
Libertad were… ruthless last weekend, punishing 3 de Febrero for every single defensive mistake they made. Four goals, dominant performance, not much more to write about the game, as Libertad imposed their own rules from the first half, and easily finished the game off in the second one. They are playing their first Copa Libertadores group stage game on Tuesday, in Argentina, at Atlético Tucumán, so the question is, will there be any rotation in the squad, and if yes, how big? About 30 hours before kick-off, the feeling was that… no, there won’t be a major rotation, just a small one, and that’s because the team are doing very well in the Apertura, they are second just two points behind leaders Olimpia, and given that Olimpia are playing against Cerro Porteño, the end of this game week could have Libertad at the top. That’s motive enough to play with their best possible 11, or at least very-very close to that.
Sol de América’s double chance at 1.72 was my main tip last weekend when they visited Nacional Asunción, and they earned a 1-1 draw thanks to an “wow” goal scored by Tomás Rojas in the 88th minute. Earlier, they had missed at least two clear chances to score, but compared to previous games of theirs, for some reason, they looked somewhat… timid, not searching for a goal as passionately as in previous matches. After two defeats away from home, they earned their first point as visitors, so that’s something. The fact that they are facing a team who are about to make a trip abroad for a big Copa Libertadores game, is something that Sol could make work for them.

Libertad vs Sol de America: Head to head Stats
Two wins for Libertad, two for Sol, and one draw, in the last five games between these two with Libertad as hosts. Three of those five matches went over 2.5 goals.
Libertad vs Sol de America: Prediction
Libertad are considered huge favourites to win the game, but I’m going against the odds, I’m backing Sol to earn at least a draw, first because I expect Libertad to look somewhat distracted, and second because Sol have shown interesting things even in the two games they lost away from home, to Guaraní and Cerro Porteño. I feel they have what it takes to “steal” a point at Nicolás Leoz.
Libertad vs Sol de America: Betting Tips
Sol de América’s double chance pays 1.90 and I’m staying with that, knowing that it’s a big risk betting against Libertad at this point, a team that have 10 points from their last four matches.
