Liverpool vs Chelsea
Competition: UEFA Super Cup
Date: 14 August 2019
Kick-off: 21:00 CET
Liverpool looked awesome on Friday, on their Premier League debut, beating Norwich 4-1 at home. The game had bad news as well though; Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker got injured (in the weirdest way possible), and is expected to stay sidelined for up to eight weeks(!). Adrian was sent in, a week after getting signed by Liverpool, and he did well, despite conceding in the 64th minute (by then, Liverpool were 4-0 up). Jurgen Klopp is expected to have Adrian, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Keita, Origi, Firmino and Salah in the starting lineup. Once again, Mané is expected to be on the bench. Liverpool’s manager was asked what they need to do to be successful this season, and he simply said “stay greedy”, not get comfortable with what they did last year, go for more.
Unlike Liverpool, Chelsea were taught a tough lesson on Sunday; they lost 4-0 at Old Trafford to Manchester United, being sort of unlucky as well. They did have two attempts on the post, before United… stepped on it with back-to-back goals in the 65th and the 67th minute. Be reminded, Chelsea spent the summer with a transfer ban over their heads. The only new player they have is Pulisic, whose transfer was finalized last winter, before the ban was imposed. On the other hand, they did lose Hazard. Plus, they have guys recovering from injuries: Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Antonio Rudiger. At least Willian is back, and could play. Frank Lampard is expected to have Arrizabalaga, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Zouma, Alonso, Kovacic, Jorginho, Pedro, Barkley, Pulisic and Giroud in the starting lineup.

Liverpool vs Chelsea: Prediction
I would be very surprised if this Liverpool didn’t beat this Chelsea. Maybe, just maybe, later in the season, the gap between the two won’t look so big, but to me, right now, Liverpool look like a clearly superior team.
Liverpool vs Chelsea: Betting Tips
