Liverpool vs Chelsea
Competition: Premier League
Date: 31 January 2017
Kick-off: 21:00 CET
Without a doubt the game of the week, but not one that has come at a good time for Liverpool who are hitting a bit of a slump at the moment. Chelsea will be grateful to travel to Anfield with question marks hanging over Jurgen Klopp’s men’s depth.
Liverpool have been knocked out of two Cup tournaments in the last few weeks. First they did not manage to make the EFL final to face Manchester United when Southampton beat them over two legs. Next up, they were recently booted out of the FA Cup as the faith Klopp put in his youngsters did not pay off. This time it was a lower league team in Wolverhampton that got the better of the men from Liverpool. Even in the Premier League, their top tier team has been having issues as they have dropped to fourth after being in second for some time. It is because of draws to Sunderland and Manchester United, as well as a recent shock loss to Swansea that not many are given them a chance against the League Leaders.
For Chelsea, their record may have been broken by Tottenham, but for theta little blip they have gotten on with things winning the next two games against Hull and Leicester easily. There is no doubt that the game against Liverpool will be a lot sterner and a lot more charged, but they will definitely have the edge coming into the match even though it is at Anfield. Chelsea and their issue with Diego Costa seems to have been sorted out, and they are not conceding goals again, so the blue train looks like it won’t be derailed at Liverpool.

Liverpool vs Chelsea: Prediction
Liverpool are terribly out of sorts, but they have to get better from somewhere, it may be a little too big of a call to see them beating Chelsea but it should be a close game and even a draw could be on the cards. Chelsea will want to coast home to the title, and know games like these are vital to slow the chasing pack, so they could take it by a goal.
