Liverpool vs Newcastle
Competition: England Premier League
Date: 26 December 2018
Kick-off: 16:00 CET
Mohamed Salah scored in the first half, assisted Virgil van Dijk in his 0-2 in the second half, and rather… simply, Liverpool beat Wolves away from home last Friday. A day later, Crystal Palace made them an awesome gift, beating Manchester City at Etihad. The Reds not only remained at the top of the table, but they also saw the gap between them and City grow to four points. They have now won six games in a row, Premier League and Champions League combined, scoring a total of 14 goals in those matches. Jurgen Klopp is expected to have Alisson, van Dijk, Robertson, Lovren, Clyne, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Shaqiri, Mane, Salah and Firmino in the starting lineup. Salah has scored 11 goals in the Premier League this season, as many as Harry Kane, one less than Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. None of his goals have come from the penalty spot though, while Kane has netted three from there, and “Auba” one.
The Premier League had just one goalless draw last weekend, and it was in the game between Newcastle and Fulham, at St. James’ Park. Newcastle had almost double attempts compared to their visitors, 9-5, but not a single one on target. They also had slightly more ball possession, but generally looked… blocked, lacking fantasy and ideas. Fulham missed a couple of decent chances towards the end of the game, so, actually, things could have gone worse for Newcastle. They are 15th in the table, on 17 points. Dubravka, Lascelles, Manquillo, Schar, Dummett, Atsu, Ritchie, Diame, Shelvey, Rondón and Ayoze Pérez, this should be their starting lineup.

Any other result but a Liverpool win would be a big-big surprise.
Liverpool vs Newcastle: Betting Tips
Given that Liverpool’s victory pays less than 1.20, my suggestion is combining their win with a clean sheet, at 1.72. Despite a lot of individual talent, Newcastle have the second worst scoring record in the Premier League this season, less than a goal per match. On the other hand, they have conceded less goals even than teams sitting in the top eight of the table. “Liverpool and under 3.5 goals”, at 2.10, looks very good to me.
