Maccabi Tel Aviv vs Valencia
Competition : Turkish Airlines Euroleague
Date : 7th December 2017
Time : 20:05 CET
Maccabi Tel Aviv managed to bounce back to winning ways after a tough loss to Barcelona, when they overcame Zalgiris Kaunas by 81:74 at home. They made a really strong start in that match, as they had already taken a 10-point lead by the end of the first half (39:29). They were also good in the third quarter, and even though their opponents made an effort to come back in the last period, Maccabi Tel Aviv did good to retain their lead. Former Miami Heat and New Orleans guard Norris Cole was without a doubt the man of the match. He scored a game-high 26 points to go along with 5 rebounds, 4 assists and a steal. Jackson scored 12 with 6 boards, while Tyus, Thomas and Parakhouski all scored 9 each. The team really needed a confident performance, after suffering a massive 22-point loss against Barcelona in their previous match. Maccabi Tel Aviv are now sitting at the 5th spot of the Euroleague (W6 L4), with an average of 78 ppg, against 77 conceded.
On the other hand we have Valencia, who might have made a really strong start in the season, but they have been quite bad lately. Last week they suffered yet another loss, when they fell by 64:72 at home against Olympiacos Piraeus. The match looked lost from the first quarter, as Valencia looked really poor on the offensive end. Even though they were dominated by the Greek defense, Green managed to score a game-high 26 points with 3/4 three-pointers. Moreover, Pleiss was a dominant force around the rim with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks, but the rest of the team was buried by Olympiacos Piraeus’ defense. That was their 5th consecutive loss in all competitions, but Valencia managed to bounce back to winning ways when they overcame Morabank Andorra in the overtime. As far as the Euroleague is concerned, Valencia have now fallen to the 12th spot (W3 L7), scoring 74.3 ppg, against 75.3 conceded.

Maccabi Tel Aviv vs Valencia: Head to Head Stats
The only time these two teams have met in the past was back in 2003-04, where Maccabi Tel Aviv won by 74:89 in the first match. However, Valencia were a no-show in the second match, and were automatically defeated by 20:0 without a match. Maccabi Tel Aviv went on to win the Euroleague that year.
Maccabi Tel Aviv vs Valencia: Prediction
Valencia have been in really bad form lately, having lost five of their last six matches in all competitions. Moreover, they have ben equally bad on the past month or so, having also lost five of their last six road matches. Maccabi Tel Aviv have been in exactly opposite form, and I believe that they should be able to extend their winning streak here.
Maccabi Tel Aviv vs Valencia: Betting Tips
Maccabi Tel Aviv are traditionally strong at home, where they have won nine of their eleven matches in all competitions so far. I will pick the -4 for the home team @ 1.80 here, as Maccabi Tel Aviv have covered that spread in all four home wins for the Euroleague so far, and also in four of their five matches for domestic leagues.
