Manchester City vs Everton
Competition: England Premier League
Date: 15 December 2018
Kick-off: 13:30 CET
Manchester City’s first defeat of the season (in the Premier League), that 2-0 at Chelsea last weekend, cost them the top spot. They are now second in the table, one point behind new leaders Liverpool. Midweek, they came from behind to beat Hoffenheim 2-1 at home, in their last Champions League group stage match. They finished first in their group, which, theoretically, gives them an advantage in the last 16 draw. They are expected to start with Ederson, Laporte, Kompany, Walker, Delph, Gundogan, Sane, Mahrez, Bernardo Silva, Fernandinho and Gabriel Jesus. Several players are dealing with less or more serious injury problems; David Silva, Zinchenko, Agüero, Mendy, De Bruyne and Bravo. City have eight wins in as many home games this season in the Premier League, having scored two goals in two of those, and three goals or more in the other six. They have conceded in five of those eight matches, but not more than one goal per game.
Lucas Digne’s goal in added time salvaged a point for Everton last weekend, at home, versus Watford. They had actually taken the lead in the first half, but conceded twice in a matter of seconds in the second part (between 63’ and 65’). They are 7th in the table, on 24 points, two behind Manchester United, and 10 behind both Chelsea and Arsenal. According to reports, Pickford, Digne, Mina, Coleman, Keane, Sigurdsson, Bernard, Gueye, Andre Gomes, Richarlison and Walcott will be in the starting lineup. Morgan Schneiderlin is their only injured player. Everton have won just one of their seven away games this season, a 1-2 at Leicester. After that, they lost 2-1 at Manchester United, drew 0-0 with Chelsea, and lost to city rivals Liverpool as well, 1-0.

Two City wins and three draws in the last five games between these two in Manchester.
Manchester City vs Everton: Prediction
I doubt Manchester City will fall victims to a surprise this weekend. The fact that they just lost their first Premier League match of the season, should act as an extra motive to win this one.
Manchester City vs Everton: Betting Tips
A simple City win is at just 1.22. “City and under 3.5 goals”, at 2.40, is my pick, because Everton have been a tough nut to break away from home, losing narrowly to Manchester United and Liverpool, drawing with Chelsea, and all those games (the one at Arsenal included) stayed under 3.5 goals.
