Manchester City vs Liverpool
Competition: England Premier League
Date: 3 January 2019
Kick-off: 21:00 CET
Less than a month ago, Manchester City were leading in the Premier League, having been at the top of the table since the start, pretty much, of the season. Three defeats in three weeks, to Chelsea, Crystal Palace, and Leicester (the last two back-to-back, despite taking the lead in both games), have left Pep Guardiola’s team seven points behind Liverpool, who maintained a perfect record these past weeks. With many games left after this one, this clash between the two is not a… “final”, but especially if City lose the game, you can see why people will jump into proclaiming Liverpool early champions. A few days ago, City bounced backed from their back-to-back defeats, beating Southampton 1-3 away from home. Once again they took the lead, once again they got equalized, but this time they… took care of things. According to reports, they will start with Ederson, Laporte, Danilo, Kompany, Zinchenko, David Silva, Fernandinho, Bernardo Silva, Mahrez, Sterling and Agüero.
The other day, Guardiola called Liverpool “the best team in the world right now”. They definitely looked like that in December; eight matches, as many victories, some huge ones, either score-wise, or importance-wise. They qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League beating Napoli, and they won all seven Premier League matches, with last weekend’s 5-1 triumph over Arsenal at Anfield as cherry on top. Liverpool have been looking… scary for weeks now, and in the Premier League’s case, since the start of the season, having won 17 out of their 20 matches, drawing in the other three. All other Premier League teams have been defeated at least three times, and they haven’t been beaten once – yet. If there are no late surprises, Jurgen Klopp will have Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Robertson, van Dijk, Lovren, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Firmino, Salah and Mane in the starting lineup.

City are considered relatively clear favorites to win the game. Personally, I prefer to bet on goals.
Manchester City vs Liverpool: Betting Tips
“Over 2.5 goals and both teams to score” is at 1.88, more than what I expected. That’s my main tip. “Over 3.5 goals and both teams to score” pays 2.75, and personally I feel it’s worth the risk.
