Manchester United vs Watford
Competition: Premier League
Date: 11 February 2017
Kick-off: 16:00 CET
A much more polished performance against the defending champions saw United finally break their string of draws, but if they want to make it away from sixth place, they need to continue winning, and it all starts against Watford at home.
Watford have shown recently that they are back on to winning ways as they have picked up two victories in their last two, following two draws. But what was most impressive is that they managed to pick up the scalp of Liverpool, and then took down Burnley in their latest game. Watford’s run of four games undefeated and thus eight points in that time, has seen them climb back up to 10th, which is good for the Hornets as they were looking like they were heading towards the relegation zone with their losses that saw them tumbling down the log.
Manchester United showed their frustration at picking up a host of draws, including Liverpool, Stoke, and Hull, but they have stretched their unbeaten run still and will be happy with that. They have also recently reached the final of the EFL Cup and so this latest 3-0 win against Leicester will be a good motivational boost for a side that really wants to make it into the Top four while other teams above them stutter. Liverpool are currently in fifth spot, and with their poor form, they are now only a point above United meaning there is a lot to play for for the Manchester side.
Manchester United vs Watford: Head-to-Head Stats
The last time these two teams played it was a shock result as United started so well in the season and then Watford came along and won 3-1. It was the first time Watford had ever beaten United in the Premier League, but historically, United have won every other game, six in total.
Manchester United vs Watford: Prediction
Watford are definitely a team on the up, and thay have United’s number after the first game, but this united side are a different beast as they have found their form and are undefeated for many games now. Watford will probably cause some problems, like they did against Liverpool, maybe even get a goal, but United’s fluid machine will have enough in them to keep Watford out of the game.
Manchester United vs Watford: Tips
Zlatan is back. He scored in the last game against Leicester, and when he is in form he will score week in and week out and could be the Red Devils’ saviour again.
