Middlesbrough vs Everton
Competition: Premier League
Date: 11 February 2017
Kick-off: 16:00 CET
Everton are really making a late statement in this competition as their star carries on rising, they are scoring goals, winning games, and most importantly, not losing them anymore. They have some points to make up, but as others falter, they will eye three more points against Middlesbrough.
Everton, after four wins and then a draw, came back to winning ways in emphatic fashion as they hammered Bournemouth 6-3. They still sit in seventh, and have five points to make on United in sixth, but it is actually the teams above them there are teams like Liverpool and Manchester City that are plummeting so the likes of Everton could cruise up the log in an unexpected move. It will mean some more ruthless performances from the Toffees, and they will be targeting Middlesbrough up next, and that will be a big worry for the Boro as they need to do their best to try and frustrate the rampaging Everton.
For Middlesbrough, their form has not been great either, but they have been racking up draws more than losses in this lull which is their sort of go-to result. Middlesbrough have drawn 9, won four and lost 11, and in their last five games there have been three draws and two losses, the last game being a real tight one against another rampaging team in Tottenham. Boro will feel that they came so close to getting a draw out of a team like Tottenham, they could get one out of Everton, perhaps even an unexpected win.
Middlesbrough vs Everton: Head-to-Head Stats
There is a distinct domination from Everton in this fixture as they have won double the amount of games that Middlesbrough have had against each other. There have been 29 encounters and that has seen 14 Everton wins and only seven for Boro. There have also been eight draws. The last time they met this season it was a comprehensive 3-1 win to the Toffees.
Middlesbrough vs Everton: Prediction
There is every chance of Middlesbrough going into the shells and holding their defence to try and stop the likes of Romelu Lukaku, but it will not be easy, especially after their opponents scored six on their last game. Boro will be frustrating, but that won’t be enough as Everton will squeeze through for a goal, probably more than one.
Middlesbrough vs Everton: Tips
The striker on form is Lukaku and he is scoring at will, so bet on him to break the game open with his strength for at least one goal.
